Man City boss Pep Guardiola targets young Northeast duo

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is ready to raid the Northeast to boost his English contingent.

The Manchester Evening News says Sunderland stopper Jordan Pickford and Arsenal castaway Jack Wilshere are being monitored.

Middlesbrough centre-back Ben Gibson – who is valued at around £25million – is another top target, as revealed by The Sun.

City appear to be high in the queue for Sunderland's Pickford, who has turned in a series of impressive performances for the strugglers.

With Joe Hart unlikely to return, Guardiola has blunder-prone Claudio Bravo and Willy Cabellero – out of contract this summer – as his options.
