Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini retains support inside the boardroom.
The Daily Express says the 63-year-old Chilean's fate will be decided by City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak at the end of the season but, according to senior club sources, he is far from "a dead man walking" and there is every chance he could still be in charge next season.
It is understood, Pellegrini still has credit in the bank in the eyes of the club's Abu Dhabi owners for guiding City to a League and Capital One Cup double last season and for his work behind the scenes.
He is also understood to be already drawing up a list of summer transfer targets and working on pre-season plans.
