Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini is unsure about pulling the trigger on a bid for Real Madrid defender Pepe.
The Daily Mail says centre back is the one position that City clearly still need to strengthen.
Although they are in contract talks with Micah Richards and Joleon Lescott, Pellegrini is short of a defender after releasing Kolo Toure this summer. He has been linked with a £20million move for Real Madrid's Pepe, but City sources suggest that their interest is no longer as great as the Spanish club might believe.
