Manchester City have decided against David Silva having surgery on his troublesome ankle.
City boss Manuel Pellegrini is hoping the Spanish playmaker will be fit for Wednesday's Champions League clash with Juventus.
He said: “I don't think an operation is an option for David — now or in the future.
"If it was good for him, then the doctor would know.
“However, he hasn't operated because he doesn't have to recover in that way. When you operate on an ankle or knee, it is a long way to recover."
