Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has dismissed Jose Mourinho's criticism of their deal for former Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony.
Chelsea boss Mourinho hinted at a conspiracy, claiming "rules are different for City," which prompted a dismissive response from Pellegrini, boss of the Premier League champions.
Pellegrini said: "Financial things are the same for all the teams.
"I don't want to talk what another manager's said because I didn't hear what he said and it's not important for me.
"As I always say, I don't think this club or this team is just money. It's not money. We played very well last year when we won the two titles and I hope this year, if we can continue playing like we are, we will continue winning trophies.
"Maybe some people say it's just money - it's not money. We have good players. Every team needs good players if they want to win important things. But after that, the way we play is very important - if we want to win."
