Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini must decide the futures of three senior players in the coming days.
Pellegrini will be tasked with deciding the futures of Carlos Tevez, Gareth Barry and Joleon Lescott when he takes control on Monday week, with all three players having a year left on their respective contracts.
A City insider told the Sunday Mirror: "The reason no decision has been taken on whether to offer Carlos, Gareth and Joleon new contracts is that Manuel wanted to be in situ first.
"Things will start to move with regard to those players in the coming weeks.
"If Manuel wanted to keep someone like Tevez for the final year of his contract then he will have the power to make that kind of decision."
