Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini insists Frank Lampard has nothing to be regretful for after his equaliser against former club Chelsea. Lampard, at Chelsea for 13 years, came on as a second-half substitute for City to score a dramatic equaliser and deny his old team a fifth successive win in the Barclays Premier League. Lampard refused to celebrate his goal and was applauded by Chelsea fans at full-time.
Pellegrini said: "Chelsea didn't want Frank Lampard, otherwise (he) would be playing for them.
"I told him to go and score. I was so sure he would play well against Chelsea because he is a very good professional. I am very happy for him. He has experience and he has quality."
