Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini had to make a mad dash home from the airport on Tuesday after forgetting his passport.

The Chilean had to depart Manchester airport in a taxi after leaving his passport at home as the squad prepared to board a flight for Germany.

Pellegrini returned just over half-an-hour later and in time to make the chartered flight to Dusseldorf for the Champions League clash with Borussia Monchengladbach on Wednesday night.

The City boss was not too fazed by the incident, telling reporters: "It is not important. I have two passports and I brought the wrong passport!"
