Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini was delighted to give Stevan Jovetic action in their FA Cup win over Watford.

Jovetic has struggled with injury since his summer arrival from Fiorentina.

Pellegrini said: "I am very pleased. The idea was to give Jovetic at least 45 minutes but it was more important to win the game than think about individual players.

"I thought the 30-35 minutes he played he did very well.

"Jovetic is a mix. He's a midfielder and he played a lot of games for Fiorentina behind the striker or on the left wing.

"He can replace Samir Nasri or Aguero and that is very important for the team."
