Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini says allowing Stevan Jovetic to join Inter Milan is the right decision.

Pellegrini singled out his medical problems, which restricted him to 18 starts and 25 substitute appearances in two seasons, as the main reason behind his sale.

“It is unfortunate Stevan had to go because he played here for two years," he said.

“He is a very good player, one of the best technical players I have ever seen, but unfortunately for him he had too many injuries, and that is why he couldn't play a lot of games in a row.

“But I wish him a big future, because I think he will be a big player for Inter if he can continue to play in every game."
