Man City boss Pellegrini confident of no red card repeat against Barcelona

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is confident his team will avoid another red card in their upcoming return Champions League fixture with Barcelona.

City have been forced to play with 10 men in three consecutive Champions League ties against the Catalan giants but Pellegrini is confident that his team will avoid a sending off in Wednesday night's clash at the Camp Nou.

City bowed out at this stage of the competition last season 4-1 on aggregate after Martin Demichelis and Pablo Zabaleta received red cards in the first and second legs respectively while Gael Clichy was given his marching orders in the 2-1 defeat at the Etihad Stadium in late February.

"We are not going to play against an easy team but I'm sure that if the three ties we played before were 11 v 11 it could have been different," Pellegrini said.

"We are going to have bad moments during the game but we have a team that can do its best in this type of game."
