Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini had a mixed response to their tour of the US.
Pellegrini admits they're returning to Manchester concerned with the extensive travel the players have endured.
He said: "I said it was a high risk but they worked hard on it to improve it and fortunately nothing happened.
"It's been extremely useful, the team have been professional. We've played some great performances - but the pitch condition has hindered us.
"We are not ready for the new season yet - because the rest of our squad are only coming back on Monday.
"The positive of these few games has been the quality of the games and the levels my players reached. The negative will be the travelling distances."
