The bookies have already changed the odds in Chelsea’s favour - but Pellegrini says even Jose Mourinho’s men are not clear favourites.
“We have 13 games more to fight for the title. Every team will drop points. Last week, it was Chelsea against West Ham at home. Now Arsenal. We hope that we will continue fighting until the end,” he said.
“It’s very difficult to know who are the favourites. For me, the favourites were Arsenal because, after playing 25 games, Arsenal were leading the table for most of them. We were the favourites though, because we had been playing very well before this week.
“Chelsea are now playing well as well. But they are not the favourites. And don’t forget about Liverpool, and maybe Everton or Tottenham. I think five teams are going to fight for the Premier League this season.
“Every team will drop points because the Premier League is not easy. Not one match is easy, especially away. This year the Premier League will be closer than ever.
“I don’t know why we are clear favourites. We would like to be clear favourites, with the way that we were playing. But we are the same as Chelsea or Arsenal or Liverpool. It is an unlucky moment of the season but we’ll see how we can do.”
