Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini is a big fan of young Swede John Guidetti.

The striker is unsure where he stands at City after missing much of last season with a leg virus.

But the Manchester Evening News says Pellegrini rates Guidetti, having tried to sign him on loan when he was at Malaga.

The 21-year-old Swede has been working hard in the gym all summer to ensure he hits the ground running in pre-season, after missing virtually the whole of last season due to an illness which was followed by a spate of niggly injuries.
