Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini are pushing to land AS Roma defender Marquinhos.

The Sun says Mancini faces competition from Barcelona for the 18-year-old Brazilian defender.

And the Italian - who is also waiting for news on his swoop for Shakhtar Donetsk's Samba star Fernandinho - admits it will be tough to persuade Roma to do business.

He said: "Marquinhos I really like - but I do not think that Roma are willing to sell.

"With just two signings next year, Roma can win the league title."
