Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is ready to compete with Real Madrid for Inter Milan fullback Douglas Maicon.

Reports in Italy claim Mancini wants to be reunited with Maicon at Manchester City and is preparing a £30million offer.

But he faces stiff competition from Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid and the Portuguese has made the Brazilian international full-back his top transfer target.

Maicon claims he does not know where his future lies and is focused on winning the World Cup with Brazil.

"My only thought is about doing the quadruple," he said. "I dream of winning the World Cup after having won the Champions League, Scudetto and Coppa Italia.

"When the World Cup is over, they will tell me where I'll play next year."
