Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has been told to make good his relationship with football chief Brian Marwood.
City chairman Khaldoon al-Mubarak is fed up with Mancini's sniping of Marwood and wants it to end.
The People says Marwood is in charge of co-ordinating negotiations and purchase of players wanted by Mancini, but the City boss accused him of moving too slowly.
That annoyed Al Mubarak, who is believed to have told Mancini Marwood is a valued, trusted and respected member of their set-up. Mancini was also told Marwood is here to stay at the Etihad and should be given the public respect his status deserves.
