Man City boss Mancini took great pride from victory over Chelsea

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has taken great heart from their victory over Chelsea.

Mancini spoke about his rivalry with Carlo Ancelotti, which brings back memories of Inter's clashes with Milan.

He told Gazzetta dello Sport: "Let's not exaggerate: City must still grow a lot. We will celebrate second place also. But in football you never know.

"It's like my first year at Inter. In 2004-05, Ancelotti's Milan were stronger. The season after we won. Chelsea are the strongest in the Premier League, but City are growing.

"We played like a real team [against Chelsea]. If you leave them the minimum space, Drogba, Anelka, Malouda, Essien and Lampard relentlessly find a winning solution.

"We closed all the channels and we didn't miss the chance to score with Tevez. It was a wonderful game with few goalscoring chances because when two teams are put together well on the pitch 20 chances can't arrive."
