Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini made a public thank-you to Pope Benedict after victory over Chelsea.

Mancini - a devout Catholic - said thank you to Benedict XVI who gave his last Sunday service at the Vatican yesterday.

Before starting his Press conference, Mancini said: "One thing I want to say first is for us today is the last Sunday for our Pope.

"I would like to say thank you for what he did in eight years."
