Man City boss Mancini tells Capello: Bridge will get better

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini expects more from Wayne Bridge.

Mancini admits he's spoken to England coach Fabio Capello about left-back Bridge, who has only just returned to first team action.

He said: "Wayne is still recovering from his injury but he's okay.

"But he can improve game by game. In the last 20 minutes, he was tired and this is normal when you're coming back from an injury.

"Yes, I spoke to Capello. He asked about his players and if everything was OK. After injuries, Joleon Lescott and Wayne must improve and they will.

"Yes, the World Cup is important for the club's England players but doing well for City is the most important thing.

"I don't know how Bridge is coping. I can only say Wayne is a good player. Now he is not 100 per cent but the situation with the England team without Cole, I think Bridge would be a good replacement."
