Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is planning a summer move for Aston Villa winger Ashley Young.

City ended Villa's hopes of playing in next season's Champions League when they beat them 2-1 on Saturday.

The Eastlands club now face a battle with Tottenham for fourth spot in the Premier League and should they clinch it Mancini wants to beef up his squad to cope with the extra games.

He has now identified Villa winger Young as a key target and believes he may be able to lure him to Manchester with the promise of Champions League football.
