Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini stands by his decision to recall Carlos Tevez.

Mancini says he has no regrets about accepting Tevez back after his strike in Argentina - despite what Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson said.

Mancini insists: "It is not important what Sir Alex said. I have big respect for him but it is not important, the same for him in what I say.

"For me and for him it is important to win this championship, it is not important the words we say.

"We played without Tevez for seven months and we dominated this championship. He is a City player and now maybe he can help us in the last six or seven games."
