Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini wants to splash out big for AS Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi.
The Sunday Express says he wants to spend £25million on De Rossi to take his summer spending to almost £100m.
Mancini's Manchester City, whose squad has already been compared to Barcelona's, wants to add Italy international De Rossi to it before Wednesday night's transfer deadline.
The City boss believes that the experienced Italian, 28, would complete the expensive jigsaw for a concerted push for the Premier League title.
