Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini says Inter Milan's golden era always had to come to an end.

The Nerazzurri appear likely to miss out on European qualification altogether this season.

"Inter have reached the end of an era and sooner or later this moment had to arrive, as you can't win forever. They should've slowly introduced more young players who could learn from the senators of the group.

"Youth needs to be signed up and nurtured. They do not deliver straight away and in Italy nobody is given that time to develop."
