Man City boss Mancini insists Johnson stays

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini insists winger Adam Johnson will not be sold.

The Mirror says City plan to keep Johnson - even if he is only likely to be a sub for much of the season - as they chase Premier League and Champions League glory.

The 24-year-old knows his chances of playing for England will be hit if he is warming the bench at City though, and sources close to him say he would fancy a loan spell to keep him sharp.

However, the door was firmly slammed shut on inquiries on Monday, so Johnson will have to wait for his chance behind the likes of Samir Nasri and David Silva.
