Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini insists he doesn't regard Edin Dzeko as a supersub.

Dzeko himself dislikes the supersub tag, and will be heartened to hear that Mancini does not pigeonhole him as such, despite his uncanny success rate from the bench.

"Edin is not a player like this, I don't think," said Mancini. "He is an important striker. He deserves to play from the start, like Carlos Tevez, like Sergio Aguero, like Mario Balotelli, but it is difficult sometimes.

"In a game like our recent draw at West Ham you can play with three strikers sometimes, but we need the balance."
