Roberto Mancini feels he has changed the mentality of Manchester City but insists there is a long way to go. The 2010/11 season has finally been a successful one for the Eastlands club who took the FA Cup on Saturday and have qualified for the Champions League with a possible third-placed finish.
The Italian tactician has ended a 35-year trophy drought at the club but says that cannot be enough as he targets even higher goals.
"I always wanted to change the mentality at this club and now, that is done," said Mancini. "But we have not finished. We still need to continue this.
"This year we lost many points because we lost five or six players at a crucial part of the season and that is important experience for next year."
"We have achieved our goal," he added. "It would be great to over-achieve. That would present another challenge for next season.
"If we finish third we will be one step closer to the ultimate goal, which is to one day win this league."
Man City are currently one point clear of fourth-placed Arsenal ahead of their final game of the season at Bolton on Sunday.
