Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini admits Garry Cook's resignation has been an unwelcome saga.
Although he disagreed with Cook over the club's transfer policy, Mancini claims he took no joy from his demise. The Blues boss says they had a professional working relationship and that he plans to ring him in the next couple of days.
"I'm very sorry for Onuoha's mum," said the Italian. "I'm also sorry for Garry because I worked with him for 18 months.
"Sometimes we had problems, but that is normal when you work closely with someone.
"I'm very sorry about this situation. I will make contact in the next day or two."
