Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini enjoyed the Eastlands atmosphere during their 2-0 win over Stoke.
He hugged all of his players as they left the pitch at the final whistle.
Mancini added: "I loved Italy, but the atmosphere here was beautiful.
"I love the crowd here and I am very happy because the players responded to my message.
"I am not popular in England because I am not well known - but I am popular in Italy.
"I hope the people here will get to like me.
"I have to say a big thank you to my players because they were fantastic. We played well in the first half and in the second half we were so-so.
"All the players and myself can improve, but we will only do this by working hard.
"But at this moment I am very happy. It was important to win my first game and important not to concede a goal."
