Man City boss Mancini happy to use loan system for player development

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is happy to send his young players out on-loan.

Ben Mee has followed in Greg Cunningham's footsteps by joining Leicester City and Mancini expects similar results from the 21-year-old centre-back.

"Sven knows Ben very well and I think he will improve a great deal at Leicester," he told City's website.

"Vladimir Weiss is another example of a young player who needed to continue to gain more experience in a tough environment.

"Last season he had a spell in the Premier League with Bolton and then he played in the World Cup. It was important he continued to play first-team football so this season he joined Rangers and he is doing very well which is good for him and good for us.

"We keep a close eye on all our young players out on loan and have regular reports on their progress. John Guidetti has just returned from a month with Burnley and we will continue to loan out our younger players if we feel it will benefit them."
