Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is happy with the reaction from Franck Ribery after being drawn with Bayern Munich.
Mancini says that Bayern's French superstar is a wise man.
"Manchester City? Not Manchester City! No!" said Ribery after Germany's four-time European champions had also been grouped with Villarreal and Napoli. City's only other European Cup adventure was ended by Fenerbahce in the qualifying round 43 years ago.
"I saw Ribery's reaction - and I think he is a clever man," said the City boss, who first faces Napoli at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night.
"We are in a difficult group - but so are Bayern Munich, Villarreal and Napoli. The group we are in is very strong.
"It is so strong that there is a chance we could finish top and a chance we could finish in fourth position.
"The aim for us, first of all, is to qualify for the second stage.
"That will be very difficult in itself, but if we get there then we can think seriously about what we can achieve."
