Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini wants a deal for Nacional defender Sebastian Coates wrapped up before rivals come knocking.
The 19-year-old centre-back has been tracked by Europe's top clubs following an impressive two seasons for his club Nacional, who rate him at around £12million, says the People.
But Mancini hopes his mega-rich City bosses will give him more cash to land Coates, who was voted player of the tournament at the Copa America won by Uruguay last month.
Arsenal and Liverpool have also been following his progress.
