Manchester City are set to hang onto striker Emmanuel Adebayor for the remainder of the season.
The Observer says Adebayor may be stuck at Manchester City until the summer, with loan moves to several interested clubs being blocked by City's board.
City manager Roberto Mancini is keen to see Adebayor leave after completing the £27m signing of Edin Dzeko from Wolfsburg.
However, the prospects of moving the striker to Monaco, Real Madrid or Sunderland appear to have faded because of City's refusal to part-fund any temporary move. City want all of the striker's £175,000-a-week wages paid in full.
