Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini admits crossing words with two of his young players.
Mario Balotelli and Adam Johnson have both incurred the wrath of Mancini this season.
He told the Telegraph: "I tell the players: 'You are lucky to play football for Manchester City, a top club, so you must play to the maximum in these 15 years'. Balotelli has a good talent and his head works so-so because he is young.
"These people are extraordinary, so different from other people, but Mario could become one of the best in the world. Sometimes his behaviour is not good. I can help him to change. In one, two or three years he will be different. When a player goes to another country he needs to understand the culture, football, team-mates.
"The football is totally different from Serie A, Bundesliga and La Liga. It's quicker and the referee doesn't whistle a lot. Here there are a lot of fouls that in Italy the referee whistles for. I prefer here. But sometimes I think it is too much. There are some very, very hard fouls. There is less diving. I prefer this. After Mario's first game, I told him: "Mario, here it is different'." No diving please.
"Adam Johnson was born in England, different to Balotelli. Adam has everything to become one of the top players here. He has fantastic quality but he needs to improve. He's young, 22. Adam and Mario must live more for the football. This job endures 13-15 years and for young guys like Adam and Mario they cannot lose time. For Mario and Adam it is important to think more about their jobs."
