Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is excited by what his youngsters offered in their Carling Cup win at Wolves.

Youngsters such as Denis Suarez, Karim Rekik and Luca Scapuzzi showed the future is not just about mega money signings for City.

Mancini said: "We played well and it was important because we changed all the players but I was very pleased with the performance.

"We had good players on the pitch - Kolo Toure, Nigel de Jong, Pablo Zabaleta, Edin Dzeko and more.

"With these players last year we were in third position in the Premier League and won the FA Cup.

"The young players that came into the side, they need to improve, play with the senior players sometime, because they are our future."
