Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is watching closely Daniele de Rossi's situation at AS Roma.

The midfielder's future at Roma is in doubt after he was axed by coach Zdenek Zeman on the weekend. There's now talk of tension between the pair, with club directors pleading with both parties to mend the rift.

City boss Mancini attempted to sign De Rossi over the summer and will try again should he become available in January.

PSG and Real Madrid are also being mentioned as potential destinations.
