Manchester City are ready to upgrade the contract for Mohammed Abu.

The Ghana midfielder is currently impressing on-loan at Stromsgodset, where he will remain until the end of the season.

Abu is tied to City until 2014 and City boss Roberto Mancini views the 19 year-old as a required player for next season.

Along with being registered by City for the Premier League, Abu can expect a new contract offer.
