Man City boss Mancini defends mega spending: Signings will come good

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has defended his mega spending.

Mancini has spent £150million since taking charge at Eastlands in December 2009.

Mario Balotelli, Edin Dzeko, Aleksandar Kolarov and Jerome Boateng have cost £77m combined yet get the most stick on City supporters' message boards.

Mancini said: "They have had some injuries, also Boateng is a young player, the same with Kolarov and Balotelli.

"Dzeko needs to improve in the Premier League because he does not understand the Premier League yet but they are all good players, I am sure of this.

"Look at David Silva, he needed two months and now he is fantastic for us. At this moment Manchester City have a good team, a young team with good players."
