Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has played down the prospect of a January midfield signing from Italy.

Mancini was back home for a function yesterday.

He said he is unlikely to make a move for long-term target Daniele De Rossi at AS Roma or out-of-favour Inter Milan star Wesley Sneijder.
