Man City boss Mancini confident keeping Silva, Aguero away from Spanish vultures

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is confident keeping his squad together this summer.

Mancini has dismissed any suggestions that he may lose some of his best players, despite claims that Sergio Aguero is wanted by Real Madrid and that David Silva is pining for a return to Spain.

He said: "I think all the players we have want to stay here. They have a good feeling. They know they are playing for one of the top clubs in Europe.

"Manchester City is a big club. We have a good spirit. You can lose any game of football, but what doesn't change is the spirit. If we fight for the title all year people will know that the spirit here is good.

"Against United there were 650million people watching the game all over the world. They were watching Manchester City. And that is important to the owners.

"I think City have a good profile around the world, but also that we need another two years to get even bigger. You can't change history in just two years. We need five, six or even 10 years. If we continue to work like this then we can become an important club."
