Man City boss Mancini chasing down Arsenal for top two finish

After victory over Sunderland, Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is eyeing off Arsenal's second-place.

Mancini set his sights on pegging back Arsenal after Manchester City boosted their top-four hopes by routing Sunderland.

City are three points behind the second-placed Gunners. Mancini said: "We can be runners-up. Why not?

"It was important for us to win this game for many reasons - we went into third position.

"Now we are only three points off Arsenal, while Chelsea are behind us - although it's true they have a game in hand.

"It was an important weekend - a big weekend will be when we win something."
