Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini fears they're not equipped for the new season pressures.

Mancini fears a lack of new recruits will derail City's hopes of retaining the title, particularly as rivals Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United have been busy in the transfer market.

"It can happen that when a young team win the championship after many years, the new season starts very badly," said the Italian.

"For this reason, sometimes you need to put in new players. Maybe they will be players who haven't won it before. That can help the team for the new season."
