Man City boss Mancini admits admiration for Liverpool's Carroll

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini says he's in the dark over claims of a swap involving Carlos Tevez for Liverpool striker Andy Carroll.

Mancini, whose side face Everton on Tuesday night, says he was unaware that a conversation between Reds football chief Damien Comolli and City counterpart Brian Marwood had taken place but dismissed the idea of the deal taking place anyway.

"Carroll is a good player, he is young and strong," said Mancini. "There was no phone call to me. I don't know if Brian Marwood was involved."
