Manchester City are planning a summer raid for Tottenham winger David Bentley.
The Sunday Mirror says City boss Mark Hughes has made the disillusioned Tottenham midfielder a priority target after having watched his career grind to halt following a £16million move from Blackburn last summer. Bentley is desperate to leave White Hart Lane and privately admits that the move has proved to be a disaster for him.
Bentley flourished during the three years he spent with Hughes at Ewood Park.
Hughes is likely to face competition for Bentley's signature from both Aston Villa and Everton but is confident the midfielder will opt to be reunited with him.
