Manchester City are stepping up their interest in Wolfsburg goalkeeper Diego Benaglio.
City boss Mark Hughes has ordered reports on the Wolfsburg star as he wants reinforcements between the sticks in January, says the Daily Mail.
Hughes wants a third senior stopper after Joe Hart's recent ankle injury scare highlighted their lack of cover.
Kasper Schmeichel is the only other goalkeeper at City to have played first-team football.
Standing at 6ft 4ins tall, £3 million-rated Benaglio will be able to cope physically with the Premier League.
He is under contract at Wolfsburg for another four years but City will not have many problems in signing him if he impresses their representatives.
