Manchester City boss Mark Hughes has shrugged off Elano's claims that he wants a move to Inter Milan.

Hughes believes his wish to get away has been prompted by the arrival of £12million Gareth Barry.

He added: "What happens is players see other players coming to the club and think that will affect their own position.

"Players always want assurances about their future at the club. Elano is a case in point."
