Manchester City boss Mark Hughes believes new signing Roque Santa Cruz would've fired them into the Europa League if he had arrived last season.

Hughes said: "If we could have had him in the side at the beginning of last season, his presence in certain games, against certain opponents, would very possibly have made a difference to the results that we had."

Santa Cruz signed for City from Blackburn this week in a £17 million deal.
