Manchester City boss Mark Hughes is prepared to work on new signings right up to the final minutes of the summer market.

He told City's website: "Ideally, you would prefer that you get players early in pre-season, because that helps them to integrate into the group and to let them understand how we want to play.

"Having said that, I have done business right up until the last minute of transfer windows in the past, so it is not something that I am worried about. Good business can still be done very late in the window, there is an ideal time to make signings but as long as you get the right players then it does not really matter."
