Man City boss Hughes planning big squad changes in January

Manchester City boss Mark Hughes wants major changes to his squad in January.

The Daily Mail says Hughes will fly to Abu Dhabi this evening to meet club owner Sheik Mansour bin Zayed al Nahyan, but it is clear that there are no immediate question marks over the manager's future despite City having won only one of seven league games.

Hughes believes he has the full backing of his board but he has a tough set of fixtures ahead, with games against Arsenal and Manchester United following the next match with Hull.

He is convinced City will improve once he can bring in as many as half a dozen players in January and get rid of a handful who he feels are holding him back. Of recent recruits, only Shaun Wright-Phillips was initially identified by him and his staff.
