Manchester City boss Mark Hughes has hinted he will only buy a big name in January.
City may have failed with bids for marquee men Kaka, Ronaldinho, John Terry and Samuel Eto'o in the past but bringing in a superstar is the only deal that interests Hughes.
He said: "We had to go to the market in January this year and we bought really well.
"But other times you can make mistakes and you don't get value for money.
"We look strong so it would have to be a good player to come in January and have an impact and be better than what we've got."
